(our latest steps): A Day On The His Little Feet Bus

(our latest steps)
Over the last five years, the His Little Feet bus
has crossed the country over a dozen times!
We've been in over 35 states and have driven
hundreds of thousands of miles!
So what does a typical travel day on the HLF bus look like?

HLF Travel Day Schedule:
1. Prayer
Before ever departing from a church or the HLF campus,
the team always starts with prayer.
Sometimes even the host homes join us on the bus
for final goodbyes and prayer!

2. Devotional
Each travel day, a HLF staff member
is assigned to give a devotional to the team.
Ask anyone, these often are some of our fondest
memories on tour!

3. Quiet Reading
Our devotional time is most often followed by
some quiet reading time on the bus.
The children often read their Bibles,
work on their school work,
(or on extra-early departure mornings...
take a nice nap!)

4. Bathroom Break and Fuel
It's always nice to stretch our legs, and have a
quick break before finishing our drive.
Uncle Mikey is great at finding gas stations
near a park or large area of grass
for the kids to get some energy out!

5. Lunch
Many of our sack lunches are prepared
by our amazing host homes! Thank you!
By the end of tour, the team has approximately
eaten 3,360 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches!!! Yum!

6. Rest Time
This may be surprising, but with such a full tour schedule,
the quiet bus drives, and the rest time it provides,
is welcomed by all of the kiddos.
The uncles and aunties love their rest time too!!!
Sometimes we have some creative pillows...

7. Fun Activity Until Arrival
To finish off our drives, the team usually takes some
time to sing songs, play quietly together,
and tell funny stories.
Sometimes there is even a movie or a
birthday celebration!

8. Arrival and Unloading
Rain or shine, snow or sleet!
The uncles are always so helpful
and unload the 25 plus suitcases upon our arrival to the church!

Traveling with His Little Feet is always an adventure!
Here are some of our favorite "HLF Bus" pictures...
Through the Rocky Mountains!

The Eastern Kansas Plains!

Sunny Central California!

Across the plains of the Midwest!

Up through Montana and North Dakota!
Right through the Gateway Arch!
 Highway weigh stations!
Arriving to the church is always full of excitement!

"For he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones."
Proverbs 2:8

Thank you for always praying for His Little Feet and
our travels across the country (and WORLD!)
on our mission to help, love and train
orphaned and vulnerable children worldwide!

(our latest steps): A Special Performance on Mizo Idol

(our latest steps)

The His Little Feet Indian choir children alumni
presented their culturally-unique songs and dance
on Mizo Idol, a Mizoram state-wide broadcasted program in India!

It's so encouraging to see how the
children have taken what they've
learned here in the States back to their home country of India.
They are truly shining His light to the world!

"You are the light of the world.
A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;
nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket,
but on the lampstand,
and it gives light to all who are in the house.
"Let your light shine before men
in such a way that they may see your good works,
and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:14-16

See their performance here!

Thank you Liza, David, Courtney,
Josh, Zeli, Belay, Katie, and Freddy
for serving the Lord with all your heart, soul and mind.
You gave your best to the children of this year's choir,
and they are forever changed because of it!
We love you!!!

August 16, 2015
Happy 13th Anniversary Uncle Mikey and Auntie Christa!
Your marriage has been such a beautiful example
to so many. You have modeled devotion,
sacrifice, compassion and love to so many children
without mothers and fathers.
May this next year spring forth even more blessings!

August 15, 2015
Happy Birthday to Uncle James' who served
His Little Feet for our very first Haitian choir.
Praying for you and your family
as you work in ministry in Wisconsin!

August 14, 2015
The Indian children back in Mizoram, India.
They each have voiced their eagerness and excitement
to shine the light of Christ throughout their home country!
Gerda, who has been living in
Ethiopia for the past few months,
will be caring for the children in Adas, Ethiopia.
The children have already been diligent about reading their
Bibles daily, going to church, and sharing God
with friends and family.

August 13, 2015

Each and every one of these 18 individuals
left their home countries to travel for ten months
and share Jesus in over 100 churches
throughout the United States.
They lived Proverbs 31:8 and spoke "up for those
who cannot speak for themselves."
Thousands of lives were impacted... all for the Glory of God!
Thank you children and staff for listening to God's call
in your lives and following Him!
It was an amazing 2014-2015 tour!
Getting ready for a long day of traveling!
Big hugs and prayers at the airport.
Smiles with Carris and Songa.

August 12, 2015
The team took some time to share special tour moments,
celebrate Miriami's birthday,
and encourage each other for the future.

August 11, 2015
This may be one of the silliest His Little Feet
traditions... the annual Talent show!
The children all gather together to show-off
their special (or funny) talents.
We had dancing princesses, karate-kicking super heros,
Mizoram performers, and crazy laughing Ethiopian girls!
What fun!

What a better way to end the tour, than with a fun
His Little Feet Step Up 5K around Windsor Lake?!

 Miriami stretching before we start!
The traditional group photo before the race.
Thank you to everyone who participated.
Your love and support means the world to us!
On your marks, get set, GO...
Light Your World! :)
And the winner for the boys?
BESU!

August 9, 2015
Today there was most certainly a grand party in Heaven!
Each child individually chose to publically express their salvation
in Jesus Christ and the new life that He offers
through His death and resurrection.

"Therefore we have been buried with him by baptism into death,
so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead
by the glory of the Father, so we too might
walk in newness of life."
Romans 6:4
“Baptism is an outward expression of an inward faith.”
- Watchman Nee
"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live,
but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live
in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God,
who loved me and gave himself for me."
Galatians 2:20
Jump for joy!
Now it's time for the End of the Tour Celebration!
Families, pastors, and HLF friends came beside the children
to celebrate their time here with His Little Feet,
and then commission them to
"GO LIGHT THEIR WORLD" back home.

"Carry your candle, and run to the darkness
Seek out the helpless, confused and torn
And hold out your candle for all to see it
Take your candle, and go light your world!"
Lyrics by Chris Rice
Also, today Auntie Katie and Carris celebrated their birthdays!
You both bring so much joy to us
and the His Little Feet children! We love you!

August 8, 2015
Our last concert of the 2014-2015 Light Your World Tour!
Praising Jesus with Auntie Christa has always been
a highlight for the children.
"You are the reason why we sing,
You are our hope, our everything,
We will praise You, we will praise You Lord!"
Lyrics by Ed Cash

 "You've made us ready,
You've made us worthy.
Shine like the sun for everyone!"
Lyrics by Matt Maher

Earlier today the girls had a Tea Party to celebrate
the birthdays and lives of
Millie, Lawmi, Carris, Auntie Katie,
 Auntie Courtney, and Auntie Liza!
It was so much fun!
We love you all so much!
Even Avagale and Josie joined in on the fun!

August 7, 2015
Party in the Park time! The kids had a blast celebrating
the conclusion of their time here with
watermelon eating contests...
 ...water balloon fights...
 ...three-legged races...
...and face painting!

August 6, 2015
Saii and Apuii always seem to be singing worship!
Thank you, Uncle David, for joining them with the guitar!
What an amazing double rainbow!
Thank you Lord for reminding us of your promises
and unfailing love!

August 5, 2015

We've spent the past four years watching children
from all over the world run to the arms of their "Uncle Ben."
Thank you, Belay, for touching our lives
and so many others.
You are always a part of the family His Little Feet family!
We are so excited to see what God has in store ahead of you
in Ethiopia and your ministry Hope for the Fatherless!

“Then the righteous will answer him,
‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you,
or thirsty and give you something to drink?
When did we see you a stranger and invite you in,
or needing clothes and clothe you?
When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you,
whatever you did for one of the least of these
brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’"
Matthew 37:40

August 4, 2015
Exciting news! Not only did the team record a
brand new album this year...
 ...they also recorded a new
His Little Feet LIVE DVD!
Thank you to everyone
in Lincoln, NE for making it happen!
